Research Connection Symposium

1. What is the Research Connection Symposium about?

Are you interested in working with a US university or researcher specializing in your field of research? Are you passionate about supporting research collaboration globally? Are you interested in learning best practices in global research collaboration from an experienced research manager? This Research Connection Symposium Series will bring EU and US researchers and research managers together to engage in an effective dialogue to establish and strengthen transatlantic research collaborations. Each of the three symposia will coincide with NCURA’s Annual Meeting each August in Washington D.C., USA from 2018-2020. Each year, 20 European research managers and researchers will be selected to meet US counterparts to identify joint collaboration efforts and investigate the prospect for joint research endeavors. During the symposium, EU researchers will be able to present their work and define their research needs to the potential US partners.

Applicants can apply for 1.000€ travel grants per person (limited to 4 awards per organisation) 60 grants are planned for the duration of the project period (2018-2020).

By attending the RCS, you will be able to meet your potential research partners in the US, and start exploring your collaboration topic and mechanism during facilitated discussions at the event. At the same time, you will be also given an opportunity to connect with potential funders in the US federal agencies.
